Fifty years ago this weekend, Oxford celebrated it's centennial! Founded in 1870,the centennial Watermelon Feed...originally the Anti-Horse Thief Day, was quite a celebration. Apparently, it became politically incorrect to persecute horse thieves so they focused on melons instead!
Royals Charities gave Matthew Ast, Belle Plaine cancer survivor, a virtual seat at the game last week. The organization featured area survivors as stand-ins for the crowds to not only fill the seats but highlight their work to help research cancer treatment in Kansas. Royals Charities part
